FOOD EXPERIENCE

The food culture and the restoration of the Venerable Academy of chefs and pastry chefs whose last seat was the Church of Santa Maria di Grotta Pinta, now seat of Cappella Orsini POT. The most famous representative of the Academy was Bartolomeo Scappi, nicknamed the Michelangelo of Italian cuisine, author of the “re couquinaria”, the first modern treaty on the art of cooking. Bartolomeo Scappi was the secret chef to Pope Pius IV and Pius V. You will have the opportunity to enjoy our menus at Cappella Orsini: from Renaissance banquets inspired by Lucrezia Borgia to the traditional Roman cuisine inspired by the years of La Dolce vita, to our luxury lunch offered by Don Fabrizio Corbera Prince of Salina and Marquis of Donnafugata in Luchino Visconti’s movie “Il Gattopardo” (The Leopard).

ART EXPERIENCE

The Accademia del Superfluo, first school of decorative arts in Rome founded in 1986 by Roberto Lucifero, offers professional courses of faux marble, stencil, trompe l’oeil, grottesca, grisaille, decoration on furniture pieces, watercolor and drawing. Thanks to the experience of the Accademia del Superfluo, CAPPELLA ORSINI has created several courses specifically tailored for visitors. The courses have a two hours duration each and gives the opportunity to learn the most basic yet typical techniques of the Roman painting tradition: faux marble and print on textile, floral arrangement and creation of paper flowers. As a result, you will have made a beautiful memorabilia allowing you to keep a vivid memory of your Roman experience.
